In Great Britain, the noise experienced by workers and employees is controlled by the Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005, and in Northern Ireland the technically equivalent Control of Noise at Work Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2006 apply. These regulations set action values above which employers and employees have specific duties. These regulations are the UK's implementations of a European Directive, and equivalent regulations with the same action levels are in force throughout the European Union. With very few exceptions, the Control of Noise at Work Regulations apply to all employers and employees within the UK.
Noise can affect workers in the most unexpected jobs, not just heavy engineering, construction and factories, and we have experience of many non-traditional noise environments.
